The majority of this blog post is referring to the port to the 1.21 version of Minecraft. It discusses reworks, removals, additions, etc.
Any textures, models, or concepts that you see here are probably still a work in progress and may heavily change from now until the time of release.
Create: Garnished started as a silly mod that added nothing more than nuts and a few nut-related foods, perhaps a minor non-nut-related food here and there. For over a year, each update has had less and less nut-related foods attached with more and more inventory clutter.
To say that this was the original vision of Create: Garnished would be a discrediting the past year of improvement that I've been through considering that I initially made this mod as a joke. Of course, it might actually be a good thing that I've added so much content for so long, as it's given me time to reflect on those features, finetune them, and improve myself as a mod developer. Using what I know now, I would like to rework Create: Garnished in Minecraft 1.21 to be better at several things. Guiding the player, removing inventory clutter, allowing simple features to remain simple and not become overcomplicated while also having a balance of features that new players will enjoy and experienced players will enjoy, etc.
(maybe) TL;DR: Let's start from scratch and make Create: Garnished better than its past.
In the 1.18.2/1.19.2/1.20.1 versions of Create: Garnished, the advancement systems seem a bit scattered with no real guidance as opposed to random and subjective points of which you obtained certain foods or did certain actions. However, the 1.21 port is not only different, but does a much better job of guiding the player through Create: Garnished.
Below, you can find the current 10 advancements that will be included in the first release of the rework.

Wild crops are one of Farmer's Delight most recognisable features, and while I want to keep Create: Garnished unique from Farmer's Delight, I do believe that some features from Farmer's Delight would work quite well in a reworked Create: Garnished mod.
Introducing, Wild Ginger Roots! Similar to Wild Cabbage or Wild Potatos in Farmer's Delight, they will drop a given crop with a flower. In this case, it'll drop 1-2 Ginger Roots alongside a Marigold flower!
As stated above, Marigold flowers are also being introduced into the mod, which can also generate alongside Wild Ginger Roots.

Any nut that doesn't grow on a tree - such as Peanuts, I've learned from my mistake - will now also be found in a similar fashion to farmer's delights crops as a wild crop.

Most crops will also be able to be compacted into block form. While I do want this to be similar to Farmer's Delights 'Crop Crates' I do also want it to be unique and different in some variety.

Peanuts aren't the only nuts being introduced in this rework! In fact, a whole new nut is being added to the Create: Garnished nut family - Pine Nuts!
Currently, Pine Nuts aren't used for anything in particular unfortunately. However, there are plans to add some more functionality to Pine Nuts in the future.

While I want to focus more on real foods, I do want to also add some minor - or major - fantasy based foods. In this release of Create: Garnished, introducing Elven Sweetberries!
Elven Sweet Berry Bushes can be found in a few different Taiga biomes - specifically the regular Taiga and both of the Old Growth Taiga biomes - and will deal damage to the player in a similar fashion to Sweet Berry Bushes. However, it will deal significantly less damage, so don't think about using these in a mob farm any time soon.
A related addition are the barrels for both the Elven Sweet Berries and regular Sweet Berries.

The Elven Sweet Berries and regular Sweet Berries have also both recieved their own unique tea types - Elven Tea and Sweet Tea!
Elven Tea will provide the player with Invisibility and Speed for 3 minutes with no particles, adjusting and moving an aspect that some may be familiar with from the old Create: Garnished's Hadean Peanuts!
Sweet Tea - new and improved - will now provide Regeneration temporarily upon consumption as opposed to providing the Augmented status effect from the old Sweet Tea.
This is all that will be released in this initial version of the rework, as I do not want to introduce too much content as to allow further updates and potential tweaks to these presented features.
It is now time to discuss what should be the final content adjustment update of this "era" of Create: Garnished. It has been a fantastic (almost) 2 years working on this mod and I hope that everyone continues to enjoy Create: Garnished - both the old and the new.
Several food items that either provide status effects, can be brewed into potions, or can even cure certain effects have recieved tooltips to help players more easily determine which foods have functionality. Holding shift on a given item can also show you any potential per cent chances that an item has to provide the given effect or condition listed.

Every core nut item has been renamed and several tooltips have been removed as a result. Examples are provided below:

While a lot of work went into the original textures for the Amber Remnant blocks, I was never truly happy with them and thought that they looked quite out of place. So, they've been retextured to more closely match with the Create Rose Quartz textures. Of course, for those who liked the old textures more, they are available through a built-in resource pack accessible through the resource packs menu.
